The Social Democrats, led by Taoiseach Ognian0, have won a resounding and decisive first-place victory in the April 2026 General Election.

Winning just short of a majority at 11 seats, Ognian0 and his ministers are likely going to win a second consecutive term in office. No Taoiseach has led their party to a second consecutive election win since TrueDonald in 2024.

Falling short of pre-election prediction polls, Fine Gael placed second, winning 6 seats, followed by Fianna Fáil on 3 and Sinn Féin on 2. The Labour Party won a single seat for the fourth consecutive time.

Ognian0 is expected to be re-elected Taoiseach on Wednesday, 8 April. RTÉ predicts that he will preside over either a continued minority government, or perhaps team up in a coalition with a smaller party such as Sinn Féin.
