Bydiac Succeeds Leahvnx as Director General of RTÉ

The Government announced Sunday afternoon that Bydiac will serve as the next Director General of Raidió Teilifís Éireann, succeeding leahvnx who announced on Friday that she would be standing down once a successor had been appointed.

In his appointment statement, Bydiac expressed his gratitude and paid tribute to the now-former Director General, leahvnx. He said that under his leadership, the national broadcaster will begin exploring new directions for the organisation.

Leahvnx had served as Director General since 28 December 2025. Her tenure included overseeing RTÉ's streaming of President O'Sullivan's inauguration at Dublin Castle. She announced on Friday that she was standing down, citing an inability to give the role the full attention it demands.
