The Federal Election Commission announced late yesterday that it has disqualified domesti_c, the vice presidential candidate on the Heritage Party's Maxabillian ticket, following a majority vote by the Commissioners.
In a public statement released at 10:30 PM, the FEC said the disqualification stems from violations of the military Hatch provision, including a missed compliance deadline of July 18th, as well as issues with the candidate's registration. The Commission emphasized that the decision is not taken lightly, but was necessary to comply with applicable law and regulations.
According to the FEC, the relevant regulatory changes were outlined in Section 6, Clause 1 of the New Method Memo, and the Commission maintains that domesti_c was given ample warning and multiple opportunities to come into compliance before the ruling was issued. The statement notes that further investigation into the matter remains ongoing.
